The British Influence in Ulster Architecture
Tuesday 17th January 2012
Hugh Dixon
For centuries building in Ulster has been influenced from abroad, most strongly from its nearest neighbours; yet the buildings have a distinct character.
Hugh recently retired after 25 years as curator for the north east region of the National Trust. The years before that were spent as an architectural historian in various roles in Northern Ireland. 2008 saw the publication of a fully illustrated edition of his book; An Introduction to Ulster Architecture.
