Members' Evening of Short Talks
Wednesday 16 January 2019
Organiser: Hugh Dixon
After the successf of last year's experiment, we repeated our January alternative to a full lecture, with an evening is devoted to short talks giving members an opportunity to address favourite subjects, share enthusiasms, outline early research or simply fly architectural-historical kites.
Topics ranged from the 18th century to our own times, from vernacular to highly formal and to the unexpected. Speakers were:
- Sue Ward on How not to build a bridge
- Beverley Bagnall on John Johnstone, Architect
- John Gall on Waste Not Want Not
- and Tom Yellowley on Mechanics Institutes
and the evening was organised by Hugh Dixon
